Richard Jordan Productions presents BREATH[e] at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as part of Traverse Theatre's 'Festival 2005' August 6-21, 2005 DIRECTED AND DESIGNED by Steve Lucas PRODUCED by Naomi Campbell ORIGINAL MUSIC by Steve Marsh BREATHING by Jane Miller ASSOCIATE LIGHTING DESIGNER Sandra Marcroft ASSOCIATE SET DESIGNER Trevor Schwellnus book tickets traverse festival 2005 programme images video (windows media) BREATH[e] is a theatrical installation of light and sound which takes you on a journey of the heart and mind; a sensual, sensory voyage which only the imagination can decipher. BREATH[e] is a play without words or actors; a play that enters your body through your eyes and ears and mouth; a play where the action takes place inside of your lungs; a play that happens to you. Performed in a specially created environment for 27 people at a time, it is a 35 minute piece inspired by Samuel Beckett’s 30 second drama Breath. BREATH[e] is an unforgettable journey through colours and sound; an experience that lies between theatre and visual art, music and meditation. BREATH[e] is a mesmeric journey into a haunting spiritual dimension....beautiful and entrancing... [it] moves you psychologically and emotionally. (TOTAL THEATRE MAGAZINE) A sensory extravaganza, a mind-stretching voyage...for every person that ventures down this rabbit hole, the experience shapes a different story. (TORONTO STAR) Theatre 2.0 is a project-based company established to produce the visually based, radical work of acclaimed set and lighting designer Steve Lucas. Nominated 27 times, Steve is a four-time winner of the Dora Mavor Moore Award for his work in set and lighting design which has been seen in every major Canadian city, across the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia. BREATH[e] received its UK premiere in a sold-out run at the ICA in January 2004 as part of the London International Mime Festival. A most unusual hybrid, BREATH[e] appeals to a wide audience including theatre goers, visual arts aficionados, yoga practitioners and late night partiers keen for a very special trip. BREATH[e] is presented in association with Richard Jordan Productions Ltd, who also presents Bob Kingdom in Laurel and Laurel and Dylan Thomas Return Journey at the Assembly Rooms, I’ll Never See The Stars Again at St Cuthbert’s Church, and the site-specific production A Mobile Thriller during the Festival Fringe.
